Kidsgrove is set for a major transformation thanks to a £16.9 million Town Deal secured by Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council and Staffordshire County Council. An information session at Kidsgrove library on Tuesday, June 30 will reveal the next phase of improvements to the town. Staff will be available from 9.30am-11.30am and 5pm-6.30pm to explain what residents can expect.
The Town Deal scheme will deliver upgrades across multiple areas of Kidsgrove town centre. Planned improvements include new enterprise units at The Meadows, plus enhancements to King Street precinct, Market Street, Heathcote Street and Station Road. Newcastle Under Lyme Council has secured an additional £750,000 to support these developments alongside the main Government funding.
Earlier phases of the Town Deal have already delivered significant benefits to Kidsgrove. The reopening of Kidsgrove Sports Centre, a new pump track at Newchapel Rec, and 1,700 new jobs unlocked at Chatterley Valley West demonstrate progress on the scheme.
Highway works are scheduled to begin in July as part of the wider improvements. These will include new one-way traffic arrangements on Station Road, Meadow Road and Market Street. Residents living in or doing business in Newcastle Under Lyme and the wider area should prepare for potential disruption during this construction phase.
