The new facility would use separate equipment housed away from the existing crematorium building. Councillor Ben Simpson said the proposal would deliver "a compassionate, affordable and locally accessible pet cremation service" for families saying goodbye to beloved pets. If planning permission is granted, Newcastle Under Lyme Borough Council will also need to secure a regulatory licence from Defra before the pet crematorium can begin operating. This additional step ensures the facility meets national standards and requirements.
