Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council has approved £135,000 in funding for a modern, all-weather pump track at Lyme Valley Parkway. The money comes from contributions secured from housing developers.
The existing BMX track will be replaced with a high-quality facility designed for cyclists, skateboarders, scooter riders and rollerbladers of different ages and abilities.
What the new track will include
Specialist contractors have prepared initial designs for a purpose-built circuit featuring rollers, berms and flowing turns. The facility will accommodate beginners taking their first steps in wheeled sports as well as experienced riders seeking a more challenging course.
Next steps
The council will now invite tenders for the project. Residents will be consulted on the proposed designs in autumn 2026.
Part of a wider programme
The Lyme Valley pump track builds on the success of an existing facility at Newchapel Recreation Ground. Another new pump track is planned as part of major improvements at Bradwell Dingle. Together, the three projects will expand opportunities for wheeled sports across Newcastle-under-Lyme.
