A by-election will be held for a single seat in Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council's Town ward, following the resignation of borough councillor Christine Duffy.
Cllr Duffy's resignation letter was dated 20 August 2026 and received by the Proper Officer on 21 August 2026.
Who represents Town ward now
The other borough councillor representing Town ward is Sheelagh Casey-Hulme. Cllr Casey-Hulme continues in her role and is unaffected by the vacancy.
