The Cherry Tree pub in Newcastle-under-Lyme has reopened following a refurbishment of its indoor and outdoor spaces.

The Hungry Horse pub on London Road reopened on Friday 28 August after what owner Greene King described as a six-figure investment.

Work at the venue included changes to the layout, decor, lighting and furniture, as well as upgrades to the toilet facilities.

Function room and beer garden refurbished

The upstairs function space has also been updated and can accommodate gatherings of up to 60 people.

Outside, the beer garden has received additional seating, new furniture and signage, with festoon lighting installed around the space.

Breakfast and weekly entertainment return

The pub is serving breakfast from 9am seven days a week and has installed a self-service coffee machine.

Greene King said the Cherry Tree plans to run a weekly general knowledge quiz alongside live entertainment on payday weekends.

General manager Sarah Clarke began her hospitality career at the Cherry Tree 36 years ago and has returned to lead the reopened pub.
