Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council is hosting a Civic Pride campaign event in Knutton and Cross Heath this Tuesday, 12 May. Residents are invited to join a community litter pick starting at 10am from Wammy car park on Lower Milehouse Lane, with equipment provided by the council.
The litter pick is a joint effort between Newcastle Under Lyme Borough Council, Aspire Housing and Staffordshire Police to tackle litter issues and improve the green space for the local community. Alongside the cleanup, a drop-in session will run from 10am to 2pm at the same location, offering residents advice and information about local services and support available in the area.
The council's Green Team will also be partnering with volunteers from St. Mary's Church to carry out spring gardening work in the church grounds as part of the same initiative. Jason Griffiths, Mobile Multi-Functional Team Leader at Newcastle Under Lyme Borough Council, said the Civic Pride events are designed to bring people together to make a positive difference in their neighbourhoods.
This is part of an ongoing series of Civic Pride events across the borough. The next event in the campaign takes place in Silverdale on Tuesday, 19 May, giving residents across the area opportunities to get involved in their local communities.
