Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council is bringing its Civic Pride initiative to Silverdale on Tuesday, 19 May. The event starts with a litter pick at Silverdale Park from 10am, followed by an estate walkabout. Residents are encouraged to get involved and help make their neighbourhood cleaner and brighter.
The council's Green Team will be on hand to support residents with spring jobs around the area. Police and fire crews will also be present, conducting checks in public spaces as part of the national knife amnesty week. A drop-in session at The Parade outside the Co-op runs from 10am to 2pm, where Newcastle Under Lyme residents can access advice on a range of local topics.
Jason Griffiths, Mobile Multi-Functional Officer at Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council, said the Civic Pride events offer a valuable opportunity for community members to work together. "Every contribution, no matter how small, helps to make a positive impact," he explained.
The Civic Pride initiative will continue beyond Silverdale. Newcastle Under Lyme Council's team will move on to Clayton and the Westlands on 26 May, bringing the same community clean-up and support services to those neighbourhoods. Residents across the borough are being urged to participate and help create visible improvements in their local areas.
